Cherokee

Born in 1948 in Richmond, California, the son of an English mother and Cherokee father. John formalized his art training as a student on the G.I. bill. He attended Ohlone College in Fremont, CA, Chabot College in Hayward, CA, graduating in 1975 with a B.A. in Art for California State University Hayward.

John has achieved national acclaim and recognition for his work. His works are in many public and private collections, and can be seen in galleries throughout the U.S. including: the Cherokee National Museum, Tahlequah, OK, Philbrook Art Center, Tulsa, OK, John F. Kennedy Center, Washington DC, Triton Museum, Santa Clara, CA, SWAIA Indian Market, Santa Fe, NM, and the Heard Museum, Phoenix, AZ. John has two daughters and lives with is wife, Diane in Hayward CA.
